Ubiquiti Display Cast Pro
Ubiquiti is a popular prosumer/business brand for networking equipment. But they now also offer a wide range of other devices. Their equipment is best known for its reliability and how well everything integrates with each other.
Their ecosystem also includes a digital signage player: the Ubiquiti Display Cast Pro. It’s a surprisingly powerful playback device that you can manage from within your Ubiquiti environment. But here’s the catch: you need to have another Ubiquiti device on your network that allows you to manage your Ubiquiti devices: a so-called Ubiquiti Controller. The most common “controller” is a Ubiquiti router.
With the Ubiquiti Display Cast Lite, you CANNOT play web content. This model is therefore NOT suitable for our web based digital signage system. You really need the PRO model.

- Includes a mount for wall installation
- Fully optimized for digital signage, so no other processes run on it that could cause issues

- Very easy to configure and manage from the (required) central Ubiquiti Controller
Cons
- Really only suitable if you’re already part of the Ubiquiti ecosystem. That’s because you need a separate Ubiquiti Controller to register and manage the device
- It’s not the absolute cheapest media player you can get
Conclusion
We’re super excited about this device’s excellent value for the price. If you’re already a Ubiquiti user, this device is practically a “no-brainer.” We’ve hardly seen any better media players, especially in this price range. So this comes highly recommended!
